Doris Roberts, the beloved actress best known for her role as Marie Barone on the hit Sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond, a role for which she won 4 Emmy Awards over the course of the shows 9 seasons, has passed away at age 90.
Confirmed on Twitter by her Everybody Loves Raymond co-star Patricia Heaton, who played Deborah, Marie’s daughter-in-law and wife of the titular character Ray (played by Ray Romano), the actress Tweeted out a touching tribute to her co-star.

Last year Doris’s on-screen grandson in Everybody Loves Raymond, Sawyer Sweeten, died of a self inflicted gun shot to the head. Doris remembered him fondly, calling him a “Sweet young man” and urging people to “Make sure your loved ones know how much you care about them”.
A celebrated actress of stage and screen, who proved that acting and comedic talents truly have no age limit, will be fondly remembered by fans of her numerous works.
