Benny Bassett is an alternative singer/songwriter from Albuquerque, New Mexico who’s currently touring across the United States and Europe in support of his six song EP, Words For Yesterday.
This second EP release from Benny is a collection of variations based on the title of the EP, Words for Yesterday. For him, each song, presents a different scenario where a person is losing the chance to say what needed to be said. So this EP represents refusing to let an opportunity pass without speaking up.
Not speaking up enough is something that many people don’t even realize they’re doing. When creating the EP, he realized that “you start to doubt yourself, and your ability to live in the moment as a genuine being. You relive this quintessential life moment over and over, and try to chase down what you should have done. It can be self-defeating, depressing, and ultimately it can take a long time to realize your opportunity is gone.

For two and half years, Benny has pursued a life doing music. He has had his fair share of missed opportunities, moments that escaped, and yes, mistakes. But this is his time to gain as much back as possible.
When listening to, “Window to Forever,” you can feel that Benny is attempting to illuminate the process of recovering from inaction as he sings, “I know I made mistakes / And I feel ashamed” and “Would you love me if I did it all again?” The music video for the track is such simple video, but sometimes a room and a camera is all you need!
Despite regretting some things, everything happens for a reason. It’s the devastating loss of relationships, and betrayal, and ultimately finding a new love and new home, that led Benny to creating Words For Yesterday.
