Singer-songwriter and producer Betty Moon recently unveiled her new music video for “Waste Your Time.”
“Waste Your Time” is the latest single/music video from Moon’s marvelous album, Chrome. The first single from Chrome was “Sound,” which became an international hit.
Renowned for her simmering sensuality, take-no-prisoners attitude, and evocative voice, Moon began her dazzling career with A&M Records, releasing her self-titled debut album while in Canada. Since then, she’s dropped multiple albums and been nominated for four CASY Awards, including Best Album, Best Single, Best Video, and Best Artist.
Relocating to Los Angeles in 2010, Moon dropped her fifth album, Rollin’ Revolution, receiving vast airplay on L.A.’s KROQ. In 2013, Moon performed as featured artist at the Sunset Strip Music Festival, where she shared the stage with Marilyn Manson, The Offspring, and Quiet Riot.
Moon is presently in the studio finishing up her new album, as yet untitled, slated to drop in early 2019.
“Waste Your Time” opens on shimmering synths atop a mesmerizing alt-pop groove. Moon’s bewitching tones ride over the rhythm, infusing the tune with dreamy, sensuous textures. When the harmonics swell and take off, the music assumes a throbbing electro-pop savor rife with seething vibes and infectious resonance.
Moon’s voice, sumptuous and lush, delivers smooth, ovoid timbres of unbridled seduction, both creamy and crowned with plush come-hither flavors.
The video, set in a luxurious home in Hollywood, oozes wealth and opulence, as Moon moves from room to room, chilling amid the accoutrements of deluxe commerce, grooving to a different rhythm. A friend arrives, dancing suggestively as the two exchange small-talk. The magnetic flow of the music, amalgamated with the entrancing visuals, provide a paradigm of urban reality among the rich and famous.
With “Waste Your Time,” Betty Moon continues to push the boundaries of pop and rock, merging the two genres into delicious tones of full-spectrum dominance.
