Following the devastation of California’s wildfires, Beyoncé’s BeyGood Foundation has stepped up to provide crucial support to those affected by the devastation. The “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” singer‘s foundation donated $2.5 million to the Los Angeles Fire Relief Fund, according to an Instagram post.

The non-profit, which was founded by Beyoncé back in 2013, posted in support of the city, writing ‘Los Angeles we stand with you.’ This donation comes after the singer’s mother, Tina Knowles, announced that she lost her Malibu home to the devastating fires.

She took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news, writing, ‘It was my favorite place, my sanctuary, my sacred Happy Place. Now it is gone!!’ In her post, she expressed gratitude to the brave firefighters risking their lives and also shared her sorrow for those who lost loved ones and their homes. Despite the devastation, she ended on a hopeful note, saying, ‘I am praying diligently for our beautiful City of Los Angeles!! We are resilient, though, and we will recover!’

The fires began on January 7 and have since destroyed countless homes and taken the lives of over two dozen people. The L.A. Fire Relief Fund is ‘earmarked to aid families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes, and to churches and community centers to address the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires,’ according to the post by the BeyGood Foundation.

Many other celebrities have expressed their support for Los Angeles following the tragedy, with several also losing their homes. Jamie Lee Curtis, for instance, pledged to donate $1 million from her family foundation to support those impacted. Jennifer Garner took another effective approach by working with chef José Andrés and his non nonprofit, World Central Kitchen, to serve food to those affected.
