Big Sean has always been an artist that has shown appreciation for where he’s come from. Not only in his music, but in his interviews and character he has shown a sense of maturity and consciousness that has separated him from his peers.
In 2012 he launched the Sean Anderson Foundation and said “I want to be an inspiration to young people, by showing them that hard work and determination pay off, to be an example of what can happen when you follow your dreams, and to be an instrument of encouragement for us all to help ourselves and to support one another.”

This week, together with his foundation, Sean launched the DON Weekend – a 5 day celebration in his hometown and said “I always love giving back to the city that gave me so much. I just want to start the summer off right and invite everybody in Detroit and the surrounding areas to come out and enjoy the festivities,”
