Billy Lockett has this past week released his brand new EP Reflections – a beautifully transcendent collection of heart-rendering songs that sees the British singer/songwriter bravely battle his emotional demons, to produce the most profound music of his career so far.
Written and recorded at his home in Northampton, the extended play serves as Lockett’s first major release as an independent artist free from the constraints of the unrelenting industry – taking ownership of his talent, and now in total control of his creative destiny.
“I’m singing again and I know this is the best work I’ve ever done.” Billy says of the EP. “Perfection is impossible but I can honestly say this whole record is perfect to me.”
Using the events of this past year to help inspire and guide the emotional direction and sound of the project, Billy bravely bares his soul across each of Reflections 6 tracks, with his distinctive, soulful vocal tone and achingly honest lyrics telling the story of one mans journey of self discovery.
As he reflects upon his past life experiences, both good and bad, Lockett admits: “During this pandemic I’ve really been learning to forgive myself and study the reasons why I messed up so many times before with drugs, record labels and relationships. Every song is a different chapter of the past. Life is beautiful, totally worth living and should never be taken for granted especially in the times we’re living in right now.”

Explaining the inspiration and meaning behind his latest work further, Billy says: “I’ve called this EP ‘Reflections’ because I think we’ve all recently lost so much communication with the people around us due to phones, work, addiction, money, ‘likes’ and a desperation to succeed. It’s so easy to lose touch with reality and forget about what’s important. What really matters is our environment, the people and our place within it”
