Throughout season 21 of “Dancing with the Stars,” Bindi Irwin has been a joy to watch. With professional partner Derek Hough, she gave it her all in every dance she performed, especially her tribute dances to her late father, Steve Irwin. Tuesday night, Bindi Irwin became the latest champion of “Dancing with the Stars.”

The finale went back and forth between the ballroom and The Grove in Los Angeles. The action began with a spectacular Christmas-themed dance that included the celebrities and pro dancers. Throughout the show, each couple, with the exception of Tamar Braxton and Valentin Chmerkovskiy, performed one of their dances from the season. After Hayes Grier performed a contemporary routine with partner Emma Slater, it was announced that Grier would join the “DWTS” tour. Dancing wasn’t the only thing that took place during the finale, as there was also a bit of singing.

Shortly after the opening dance, Chaka Khan performed her hit, “I’m Every Woman”. Later on, Andy Grammer sang “Good to Be Alive”. Later, the two singers did a duet to “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”.

There was also a bit of comedy in the show, as Gary Busey, Paula Deen and Victor Espinoza portrayed Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and an elf, respectively, in the skit “Twas the Night Before Finals,” a parody of “Twas the Night Before Christmas.” The skit talked about the finalists practicing and dreaming of winning the competition.

Finally, it was time for the final dances. The three couples performed a fusion dance, where two dance styles were mixed into one dance. Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess kicked things off with a salsa/tango fusion to Chris Brown’s “Turn Up the Music”. It was full of Latin flair and they left everything on the floor. The judges gave them a 30.

Next, Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold performed a rumba/tango fusion to Coldplay’s “A Sky Full of Stars”. While there were some footing issues, the judges did praise Skarlatos for his improvement in the rumba. They received a 27. After their performance, Skarlatos was also announced as an addition to the “DWTS” tour.

Finally, Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough performed an Argentine tango/cha-cha fusion to Timeflies’ “All the Way”. It was a beautiful dance to finish the season, and they received also received a 30.

Back at The Grove, Nick Carter performed his new single, “I Will Wait” to a video montage of the finalists played. After the performance, the first result of the night was announced. The couple landing in third place was Alek and Lindsay. Back in the ballroom, Bindi and Derek were named the champions for season 21, leaving Nick and Sharna in second place.
