New K-pop girl group, BLACKPINK, have taken the world by storm. Not only have they been a top trend via social media (Twitter, Facebook, etc) but they literally shattered the iTunes charts with a smashing debut album entitled Square One.
Songs ‘WHISTLE’ and ‘BOOMBAYAH’ carry a hip-hop and EDM influenced dip, respectively, and includes an amazing set of rap skills from the new girl group.
They’re quite a force to be reckoned with considering the fact that they’ve only just debuted to the whole world but greatly enough the reception seems to be positively universal. While there have been certain comparisons to 2NE1, it’s nothing to fret about. It’s obvious they will follow the successful footsteps of 2NE1 and become just as successful. The formula is bulletproof.
Their album Square One rose to the top of many worldwide iTunes charts, including the U.S (peak #1), and is currently still in the top 10 in various countries (New Zealand, Denmark, Columbia, Switzerland, etc).
With it’s current stability on the U.S iTunes chart, it will certainly make a splash on U.S digital charts!
