Indie quintet Boy Bleach continue to be a voice for their generation with the release of their new single “Daylight Robbery” – a sarcastic yet brutal tongue-in-cheek take on the state of society today.

Out now via Parlophone, the electrifying track serves as something of a musical rebirth for the East London group (who are currently on tour with American rock outfit Set It Off) following the unveiling of their debut EP ‘or are you normal?’ last year.

Covering topics ranging from toxic masculinity to social anxiety, the lyrically poignant 5-track collection saw Lou, Jimi, James, Nick and JJ demonstrate their natural talent for creating well-constructed, anthemic pop songs that seamlessly tap into the cultural zeitgeist and collective conscious of millions of young people around the world. Praised for its slick production, and empowering messages of unity and hope, the extended play not only performed well commercially (amassing close to 1 million streams on Spotify alone) but also served as a prime example of how modern-day recording artists can produce forward-thinking, contemporary material of substance, without chasing trends.

In a joint statement the band say of the latest offering: “‘Daylight Robbery’ is our statement track for the new era. It’s us through and through. We wanted to capture the essence of how our generation feels watching ourselves getting mugged off every day by people getting paid to protect our interests and future. It’s a witty working class anthem about the seemingly ever-long, never-changing crisis we find ourselves wrapped up in.”

Having seen their fanbase grow following the release of ‘or are you normal?’, the band continue to make their presence felt on the touring / festival scene, quickly building a reputation for their raucous live shows and captivating sets!

With upcoming festival performances confirmed at The Great Escape, Mad Cool and Truck Festival alongside a headline UK/EU tour later in the year, 2023 looks set to be another big years for the boys of Boy Bleach!

“Daylight Robbery” is available to download / stream via Parlophone now
