Brand New announced some insanely exciting news as well as some sad news.
First, the band took to Twitter to announce they will unfortunately be pushing back their next studio album. The band posted this in a note, “At some point previous, we, Brand New, admitted our plans to release a record this year. These plans were authentic, but we are changing them… Brand New will not release a record in 2016.”. While we’re as eager as you are for the next album, we’ll have to be patient.
In addition, they stated this fall is the 10 year anniversary of “The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me”. It is arguably one of the greatest alternative albums ever released. The band added, “It is an important record and piece of work to us, and one that ten years later we still use as a measuring post with which we compare the music we make now.”
As many of you know, Brand New will be on tour this fall with Modern Baseball and The Frontbottoms. Brand New will be performing their iconic album in full. They made it clear they will still be performing tracks from other albums as well as new music.
The band finished with, “What’s left should be a strange demise, but hopefully one as loud and as fun as the rest of our time together has been.”.
