News broke yesterday that Jamie Lynn Spears’-who is the younger sister of pop superstar Britney- 8-year-old daughter Maddie had been taken to hospital after a crash involving an ATV.
Details of the accident later emerged, with a police report obtained by People magazine confirming that the youngster had been submerged in water for several minutes before being rescued by the ambulance service; “Within seconds the child’s mother, stepfather and other family members reached the pond, dove in and attempted to rescue the child to no avail.The child was trapped and secured by the seatbelt and the ATV’s safety netting. Within two minutes, Acadian Ambulance Services arrived and assisted in freeing the child from the cold waters.”
The official police report also says that Maddie was steering the ATV at about 100 yards ahead of her mother and step-dad and took a hard right to avoid going into a ditch; “In doing so, she over-corrected causing the ATV to enter the pond,”
Little Maddie Aldridge who is the former Zoey 101 actresses only child, was airlifted to hospital on Sunday where she has been ever since the devastating accident in her hometown of Louisiana.
It has been reported that Britney Spears’ niece is in a critical but stable condition. Britney has now called for prayers and wishes for the little girl;
