It’s hard to believe it’s been twenty-three years since Britney Spears was part of the Mickey Mouse Club. The pop princess will once again return to where it all began, Disney!
Britney will be awarded the first-ever Icon Award at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards. According to E! News, this award will recognize “a distinguished artist whose career transcends popular culture and whose music is loved by generations of Radio Disney fans.”
The Vice President of Music Strategy at Disney Channels Worldwide and the General Manager of the Radio Disney Network, Phil Guerini, says “We are proud to celebrate Britney as the first recipient for this award acknowledging her chart-topping career on Radio Disney since 1998.”
Britney will receive her award on Saturday, April 29 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. There will also be performances by Hailee Steinfeld, Alessia Cara, Noah Cyrus, and more.
