The woman behind mega-smash singles ‘Baby One More Time’, ‘Toxic’, and ‘Oops! I Did It Again’ is geared up and ready to take over the charts again in 2016. That’s right, Britney Spears has been working hard on her ninth studio album and it’s being suggested that she’s got five songs that are going to absolutely take over the music industry upon release.
RCA Records Executive Vice President/GM Joe Riccitelli had nothing but wonderful things to say about the work Britney has been putting in and the ‘return to form’ her new music possesses.
“Britney’s really working on a fantastic record. I’ve heard about four or five songs that I think are just going to be big hits for her. She’s found a really great groove, and she’s working with some new, young producers. We have an A&R person working on the project that’s just really been able to thread the needle, and I’m really excited about it… we’re waiting for her to finish the album.”
There’s speculation that one of her hits could come out as soon as May 20th, leaving just two weeks until it would be released. Riccitelli didn’t comment anything cement about that specific date, however, and hat rumor originates from a ‘slip’ from Sony Music Germany on one of their release schedules.
Instead, Riccitelli said this about ‘Make Me (Ooh)’.
“I’ve played this track for a lot of people over the last couple of months and the response has been everything I was hoping for and more, so I’m really excited about that. That’ll be a single sometime this summer.”
Whether or not we get to hear the song this month, or we have to wait a bit longer before the tune becomes a radio staple for the summer of 2016 is yet to be seen, but we are anxiously awaiting Britney’s active return to music.
With a singer and performer that embodies the strength, talent, and willingness to overcome anything that Britney does, there’s absolutely no stopping her. It has been over 20 years since she first stepped foot into the industry and it’s easy to imagine that we’ll get another 20 with the superstar as long as it’s what she desires, and with it, a perfect mix of songs to sing along with really loud in the car!
