“We filmed the video for ‘Wasted My Twenties’ in Grand Bend, Ontario with my good friends Brittany Farhat and Matt Fong from GoodJobHiFive. The vibe we were going for was Indie Sleaze/Tumblr grunge, and their space and aesthetic as creators really encapsulated that overall feeling,” Brooklyn Doran said about the video. She continues by talking about the track, “As I enter my thirties, I think back about the urgency I had in my twenties to prove myself – as a person worthy of love, as a musician and songwriter, and as an adult. It also speaks to the realness of touring in your twenties. I feel like I really paid my dues in this era, but I also look back and see more than a few unhealthy habits that could’ve been broken earlier.”

Written by the artists themselves, with Mike Tompa, Rachel Romy, Jemuel Roberts, and Brooklyn Doran acting as co-producers, “Wasted My Twenties” is a true grunge-pop track with alternative-rock vibes flowing throughout, yet it’s the awesome soulful vocals that truly hits the listener. With some incredible harmonies between the pair of singer-songwriters, this track is one you can’t help but treasure and fall in love with every time you hear it. The iconic track drives the powerful message of mental health and how we all push so hard to reach goals and our dreams in our twenties, that sometimes life doesn’t go your way, and Brooklyn Doran pretty much exudes confidence with this track, spreading it to her fans and followers who are struggling with getting older and hitting 30.
Taking the essence of the song, the video director, Brittany Farhay, really has provided an awesome visual that is simplistic in nature but works effortlessly. A pure performance visual which shows Brooklyn Doran in a room playing her song with balloons, plastic cups, and a variety of other objects which lay around the room – this scene is undeniably the morning after the night before where a party took place, or pre-drinks. Many of the visuals remind us of what it is like to wake up the morning after these sorts of parties which we’ve all been to, so this makes it highly relatable to us all, really inserting the viewer right into the scene. Dynamic, interesting, and conceptual, this music video is nothing short of epic, effortlessly relating to the track.
