It is safe to say the boys of BTS had a fantastic year in 2017 and it looks like 2018 is going to be no different. RM, Jimin, J-Hope, Suga, Jin, V and Jungkook (b.k.a BTS) just achieved their first Gold record in America. This is a historical achievement for BTS as they are the first K-Pop group with a song certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Rapper Desiigner, who was featured on the ‘Mic Drop’ Remix alongside Steve Aoki, confirmed the good news via Twitter;

Although BTS have yet to comment on this major accomplishment, their fans took to Twitter and started their own trend. BTS’ fandom, better known as A.R.M.Y, started trending #MicDropWentGold to celebrate this incredible milestone and it has been trending worldwide. Here are just a couple of the tweets;
We want to say thank you to all the radio stations that have supported @BTS_twt Mic Drop Remix! A huge part of this achievement stems from the impact radio has made on a mainstream breakthrough, downloads and streaming. @JJRyanOnAir @KissChattanooga @BTS_twt

Teamwork is everything as long as this fandom continues to have that and we keep working hard like we always do and ignore the negativity that comes our way there is absolutely nothing we can't help bts achieve. There's so many more first evers to come #MICDropWentGold
