BTS have made Official Chart history with their latest single ‘IDOL’.
The South Korean group have been dominating the US music scene for a year now, after becoming the first Korean artist ever to score a number one album on the Billboard 200 with ‘Love Yourself: Tear’ and reaching the top 10 with the lead single ‘Fake Love‘. They had secured themselves in the US music industry and on Friday 31st August, it looks like they are set to begin their UK domination.
The UK Official Charts reported that BTS had finally made their Top 40 debut with ‘IDOL’ reaching #21 on the Singles Chart, after previous single ‘Fake Love’ just missed out in May 2018. This makes them the first Korean group to ever chart on the UK Top 40. The single is taken from their repackaged album ‘Love Yourself: Answer’, which also reached Number 14 on the Official Album Chart, making it their third top 20 album entry.

2018 has seen BTS hit album sales close to the likes of Taylor Swift, a major global star, and become major rivals to western and global artists within the industry. Slowly but surely BTS are beginning to solidifying themselves in the British music industry and there are no doubts that after their two sold out nights at the O2 Arena this October, that they will be continuing to make their mark in the UK.
