All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven flew off the shelves almost as soon as it was published back in 2015. It still remains a YA favourite and a massive tear-jerker, compared to books such as The Fault In Our Stars (John Green) and Eleanor & Park (Rainbow Rowell). A movie adaptation is on its way and you will be able to watch the amazing story of Violet and Finch somewhere around 2018, but before that happens you have an opportunity to help with the casting.
“You are all the colors in one, at full brightness.”
After announcing one name each Monday in the search for Finch, author Jennifer Niven recently asked her fans and readers to vote for their favourite candidate. The results are closed to the general public so after placing your vote you’ll have to wait a while for the official news of who got the part.

The book itself is a powerful novel that sends a strong message about mental health, so by having the readers help with the casting Niven is sure to pick the absolute best person for the role of the quirky yet lovable Theodore Finch.
“I’d like to live in a world designed by Theodore Finch”
If you haven read the book yet, here’s a quick summary: Theodore Finch and Violet Markey are two lost souls. The only thing that makes one of them different from the other is the fact that one of them is known as the popular one, while the other is labeled as weird. Once they find each other in an unforeseen set of circumstances, they create a bond which ties the two souls together. They stay by each other’s side through the good times and bad ones, they go to different places and leave a little something behind, they find the support that they need in each other. But is it enough?
“When you consider things like the stars, our affairs don’t seem to matter very much, do they?”
Here’s the list of actors from the poll to help you choose:
Cole Sprouse
Asa Butterfield
Darryl Dale
Miles Heizer
Timothee Chalamet
Freddie Highmore
Steffan Argus
Charlie Heaton
Ferdia Walsh-Peelo
Nick Robinson
Jonah Hauer-King
Alongside one of these actors will be the amazingly talented Elle Fanning, starring as Violet Markey. The other details of the production are still fairly unknown, but we can’t wait to see who will be chosen to portray a YA male favourite.
“Sometimes there’s beauty in the tough words – it’s all in how you read them.”
