    Happy Canada Day to all our wonderful Canadian friends and readers!

    To celebrate Canada’s independence and 149th birthday, we’ve complied a list of 10 of our favourite Canadian celebrities in the Great White North!

    Michael Bublé

    Michael Bublé is a singer, songwriter, and actor born and raised in Burnaby, British Columbia. You may know him from his hit singles, “Haven’t Met You Yet”, “It’s a Beautiful Day”, and our personal favourite, “Home”.

    You may also know him due to Niall Horan’s obsession with him and his music but don’t worry, we feel exactly the same way!

    Justin Bieber

    Ahh, the Biebs. Who doesn’t love the Biebs?

    Justin Bieber is a singer and songwriter born in London, Ontario but raised in Stratford, Ontario. He first got his start after being discovered on Youtube by talent manager Scooter Braun and immediately hit superstar status!

    You may know of him by his hit singles, “One Time”, “Baby”, “Mistletoe”, “Beauty and a Beat”, “Heartbreaker”, “Sorry”, and our personal favourite, “One Less Lonely Girl”.

    Ryan Reynolds

    Ryan Reynolds is an actor and producer born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia. He played Michael Bergen on the ABC sitcom “Two Guys and a Girl” (1998-2001) and Billy Simpson in the YTV teen soap opera, “Hillside” (1991-1993).

    Ryan has starred in countless movies including “The Proposal”, “Green Lantern”, “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”, and the movie that hit it big in the box office, “Deadpool” (also our favourite).

    Shay Mitchell

    Shay Mitchell is an actress, model, entrepreneur, and author born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. She has starred in TV shows such as “Degrassi: The Next Generation”, “Rookie Blue”, but you probably know her mostly from her role of Emily Fields in the hit teen drama series, “Pretty Little Liars”.

    Shay has appeared in the movie Mother’s Day (playing the role of Tina) and countless commericals; she even starred in a music video with Jamacian rapper Sean Paul!

    Drake

    Aubrey “Drake” Graham is a rapper, singer, songwriter, producer, and actor born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He first got his start on the Canadian teen drama series, “Degrassi: The Next Generation” where he played the role of Jimmy Brooks. He later moved onto making and producing music.

    You may know of Drake from his hit singles, “Find Your Love”, “The Motto”, “Headlines”, “Take Care”, “Marvins Room”, “Hold On, We’re Going Home”, “Started From The Bottom”, “Hotline Bling” and our favourite, “One Dance”.

    Drake is also the ambassador for the Canadian NBA team the Toronto Raptors and the reason why Toronto is well known to people as “The 6ix”.

    Ryan Gosling

    Ryan Reynolds is an actor, musician, and producer born and raised in London, Ontario. He first started our as a child star on Disney Channel’s “Mickey Mouse Club” (1993-1995) and went on to appear in “Are You Afraid of The Dark?” and “Goosebumps”. He also starred in the hit TV series “Breaker High”.

    You may know of Ryan because of his roles in countless movies such as, “Crazy, Stupid, Love”, “Gangster Squad”, “Blue Valentine”, but you probably know him for his leading role in the romantic drama, “The Notebook”.

    Lilly Singh

    Lilly Singh (better known as her Youtube name IISuperwomanII) is a Youtube personality, vlogger, and comedian born and raised in Scarborough, Ontario. She started making Youtube videos when she was battling with depression as a way of dealing and coping with her feelings. She then moved to Los Angeles, California where more opportunites awaited her.

    You may know her for some of her most popular Youtube videos are “How Girls Get Ready”, “Types of Kids at School”, “Girls On Their Periods”, and Youtube series such as “My Parents Reacting To” and “Types of People in Drive-Thrus”.

    Lilly has just released her latest Youtube video in time for Canada Day, which you can which here:

    Rachel McAdams

    Rachel McAdams is an actress born and raised in London, Ontario. She initially started in the Canadian television and productions industry for her work in the drama film “Perfect Pie” and the comedy film “My Name Is Tanino”. She later made her debut in the Hollywood movie “The Hot Chick”.

    She then went on to star in countless films such as, “The Time Traveler’s Wife”, “The Lucky One”, “Sherlock Holmes”, “The Notebook”, but you most likely know her from her role as Regina George in “Mean Girls”.

    Justin Trudeau

    Justin Trudeau is a politician, leader of the Liberal party, and the 23rd Prime Minister of Canada. He was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. His father Pierre Trudeau was the Prime Minister of Canada in later 60s to the early 80s.

    His interest in politics sparked at an early age and following his father’s death in 2000, Justin became more and more involved in the political atmosphere. He later became leader of the Liberal Party in April of 2013 and Prime Minister of Canada in November of 2015.

    Shawn Mendes

    Shawn Mendes is a singer, songwriter, and model born in Toronto, Ontario but raised in Pickering, Ontario. He got his start in 2013 when he started posting music covers on Vine, which soon got a lot of attention. That following year, he signed a record deal with Island Records.

    You may know of Shawn from his hit singles, “Life Of The Party”, “Stitches”, “Something Big”, I Know What You Did Last Summer”, and his latest single, “Treat You Better”.
