Carrie Underwood’s performance at this year’s 51st Annual Academy of Country Music Awards marked the official debut of her new single, “Church Bells”. She was also nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year, but lost out to Miranda Lambert.
Carrie’s performance featured her in a haunting metallic silver dress, with her and her background performers pounding on drums that covered the stage. The song lyrics talk about how a girl “blessed with beauty” mysteriously kills her abusive husband who was a frequent drunk. This song marks the third single off of Carrie Underwood’s fifth album Storyteller.

The country singer recently announced that her tour “The Storyteller Tour: Stories in the Round” would be extended to include more American dates. The tour breaks for the summer, but will continue again in early September in Washington state. Included in these new dates is a one-night stop at the famous Madison Square Garden arena in New York (Oct. 25), and a stop at the Staples Center in Los Angeles (Sept. 14). A full list of tour dates is available here.
