For the first time ever, Jean Paul Makhlouf has taken the vocal reigns on the new single from Cash Cash, titled “Bleach (Move On)”. Delving into extremely important and notable mental health issues surrounded by their alternative emotional house vibes, it’s clear they are here to make a point with this track and we can’t help but admire Cash Cash for completely delivering with “Bleach (Move On)”. This is the follow-up to their single “Anyway” which featured RuthAnne and was their first single release in almost two years.
Cash Cash are a three-piece electronic music group consisting of Jean Paul Makhlouf, Alex Makhlouf, and Samuel Frisch from New Jersey, and have gone on to have worldwide success with a variety of singles that they’ve released. They have recently signed to Ultra Records after a nearly two-year break. Their music has transcended charts around the world with “Take Me Home” featuring Bebe Rexha becoming an international smash, and they later had global hits with “Millionaire” in collaboration with Digital Farm Animals and featuring Nelly, as well as “Can We Pretend” with P!nk. On top of the stars that we’ve mentioned, they’ve also gone on to work with the likes of Busta Rhymes, Sofia Reyes, Conor Maynard, Wiz Khalifa, and Andy Grammer. They intend to continue serving incredible music releases this year and we’re excited to see what they have in store for us.
Written and produced by the group themselves, “Bleach (Move On)” is an electro dance track with emotional alt-rock vibes flowing throughout thanks to the awesome guitar melodies and the addicting electronic drum rhythm. JP literally blows us away with his epic tone and indie-rock quality to his voice, making it the absolutely perfect decision to have him sing the vocals for “Bleach (Move On)”. Coming straight from the heart in every aspect, Cash Cash delves into wishing you could go back in time when life was better or at least when you were having a better day, alongside a friend. The track is one we can all relate to in one way or another and is set to paint a much bigger picture of mental health and hopefully open up more of a conversation. Underneath all that is the amazing production which sees the track progress from an alt-pop vibe into a classic Cash Cash dance track with one of the most brightest and tuneful drops we’ve heard all year!
Talking about the track, Cash Cash said: “We once heard someone says: ‘Your problems are like holding a glass of water; it’s easy if you only hold on to it for a little as your arm is barely affected. If you hold on to it all day and night, your arm will eventually become very sore, throbbing, and numb, barely able to hold the glass.’ The creation of ‘Bleach (Move On)’ was realizing that and finally learning to put the fucking glass down and to literally move on. Calling the last few years a challenge would be an understatement. Many of us found ourselves either running away or chasing something, or just lost in the shuffle. If you’re not one of those people, then God Bless as you’re one of the few lucky ones. For the rest of us emo kids, sanity is something we’re constantly chasing, and mental health is something we’re always running from. It takes addressing it face to face to improve it, and only after that does sanity become attainable. Writing ‘Bleach (Move On)’ was our way of addressing it; continuing to hear it is our reminder and therapy, and hopefully, playing it for all of you will be yours.”
