As the year grows to a close the time for giving slowly creeps upon us. The holiday season is filled with lights, cheer, and a desire to enhance the lives of others and to be charitable. There are a number of ways to contribute and give back during the holidays and in the month of November, a special day reminds us all of our own freedoms and an organization is doing something special to help give back to those who gave us all so much.
Veterans day 2016 was November 11th and Home Depot teamed up with Veteran Shane Duffy to make the lives of veterans all around the country more fulfilled. From simply taking a selfie to enhancing the homes of veterans so that they can keep their mobility and freedom, each one of us can contribute in more ways than we know.
Information about The Home Depot Foundation can be found here and if you want to make a difference in the lives of local veterans, you can find ways to help locally and you can do so year round. The lives of the veterans who place their own lives on the line for us every day deserve to be respected; sometimes that respect simply means giving them the means to take care of themselves in their own homes – safely.
