We spoke with CEO and President of Direct Relief, Thomas Tighe about Direct Relief, other non-profit charities, and what factors are important to consider before giving your money to an organization. In the true form of a giver, Thomas didn’t just speak positively of his own charity but encouraged readers and viewers to get involved, to do their research, and to donate to a cause that was close to their own hearts.
Part of Thomas’ interview was something we all wonder but find it hard to ask – how can we be sure our money is being used correctly when we donate? Thomas realized that people liked to see what, where, and to whom their donations were being given and implemented a part of Direct Relief’s website to let everyone know exactly what their money would be used for. It’s just one reason Direct Relief is a stand out organization.
After speaking with Thomas we felt like Direct Relief was an organization that truly focused on helping make the world a better and safer place for people and places that have suffered tragedy and during the holidays, there’s nothing more selfless than that.
