The CelebMix Twitter Fandom Awards 2017 wrapped up not too long ago, but since then we’ve moved into the interview stages with each of the winners! We had a blast getting to chat with TheZiamNews, who won victoriously in the Best Zayn Fan Account category.
Check out what they had to say about their big win and what life is like being an updater.
Q: When did you start TheZiamNews?
A: We started this account in 2014.
Q: What made you want to start an update account?
A: We wanted to bring Zayn’s and Liam’s fans exclusive updates. There wasn’t any update account only about them; their friendship was and still is the strongest between the five of them so we wanted to create something specific and special.
Q: Has being a co-owner of TheZiamNews affected your life in any way?
A: Definitely! Being a part of a group who love the same artists makes updating easier and more fun.
Q: What do you enjoy most about being a part of TheZiamNews?
A: Our followers have been supporting [us since] day one, they’re very loyal so at the end of the day, we love making them happy! Also knowing everything about Zayn and Liam makes everything exciting.
Q: What was your first reaction when you found out fans of your account had nominated you to win a CelebMix Twitter Fandom Award?
A: We had no idea that we were nominated, so when we saw all our fans tweeting us screenshots and saying congratulations, we were utterly so happy and grateful.
Q: What does being an updater mean to you?
A: Being an updater means having our own rules and setting goals each year so it’s very important, people behind it don’t know how hard it is but thankfully our followers show us support everyday and how grateful they are, they’re seriously the best!
Q: Do you have anything to say to the people who nominated and voted for you?
A: We are incredibly thankful to all of our fans for sticking up with us since day one and never leaving our side letting us be nominated! We owe this victory to them.
