With our Twitter Fandom Awards 2018 now wrapped up, it’s time for us to announce our winners. Running a fan or update account is no easy job, knowing the ins and out of your artist and finding time to manage it in between daily life. A lot of hard work goes into running an account such as these which is why we love giving recognition to some hard working fans. The winner of The Vamps Fan Account category was decided as VampsToTheBone and we chatted to owner Patrycja about her experience with the site.
When did you start @vampstothebone and what compelled you to make a fan account?
I started @vampstothebone almost 2 years ago on Instagram and one year ago I decided to make an account on Twitter because I wanted to share information, photos and facts about The Vamps with everyone. I thought then that the best form of supporting The Vamps will be an account where I could share information about boys with other people. That’s why I started this account. I just want to support The Vamps.
How has owning a fan account impacted your life?
Having a fan account is a really big thing. Everyone can have his own and it’s okay but only 30% of these will survive. You need to have a lot of time to run your account, you need to be really active so your followers will enjoy it! And the most important thing you have to put your whole heart into it. I can’t even imagine not having this account, it changed my life a lot
What does being a fan account mean to you?
If I want this account to be good I have to be meticulous, honest, always write the truth. I can’t spread fake information to the world. The most important thing for me is supporting The Vamps in every their decision, in every moment in their lives. I can smile with them, I can cry with them and this is the best of all! That’s what having a fan account means to me and I’m honoured to be one of them.
What do you enjoy most about @vampstothebone?
The fact that I can post whatever I want and people will enjoy it. I love talking to my amazing followers, I love being here for The Vamps, support them in every possible way. My account gives me so many good memories. I’m doing what I love and this is just beautiful. I try to post some old photos and videos of The Vamps so people who just joined this fandom can get to know them a little bit more. I’m just happy to be able to run this account and show others what I love in The Vamps this is the most enjoyable.
Give us a quick break down on the daily life of being a fan account?
Well, I’m trying to update everything that The Vamps are doing every day on my second account and on @vampstothebone. You have to be online whole day, you need to have a lot of free time to post every Snapchat video or photo, every post from Instagram. You have to be patient. This is really hard but enjoyable.
What do you love most about The Vamps?
Let’s begin with the name of our fandom. The Vamps called us Vamily. We’re not just fans we’re family. The boys try to show how much they love us. Once Tristan tweeted that people can insult them but not us, not their fans and this is really beautiful. I love every single thing in them, they’re just amazing. Their music helped me a lot, they’re my light in the dark night. They care about us (fans) and this is what I love in The Vamps the most. I hope they will never split up cause their music is really amazing. They’ve given us so many good memories and feelings. They’re just amazing humans being. The Vamps are doing so many charity things, they support various actions that are extremely important. Brad and James also do podcasts where they touch things difficult for people. How can you not love them?
When did you become a fan? How did you hear about them?
I’m a fan since 2015 but I know them since their ‘What About Love’ cover and then I was like “they’re great” but I forgot about them. When I heard ‘Can We Dance’, I thought “I know them, I should check them out” but I forgot about them again. The Day when I started listening to The Vamps was the most beautiful. It was 10th of September 2015. I started my trip with The Vamps with “Little Things” cover and then I’ve watched ‘Can We Dance’ music video and I fell in love with their music. My friend was a fan of them and she helped me became a big fan of James, Connor, Brad and Tristan.
Do you like collaborating with other accounts or have you ever collaborated with other accounts? Would you consider it if you haven’t?
I’ve never collaborated with other fan accounts but I’m open for new experience so if anyone wants to collaborate with me I’m always here.
Was there ever a point down the road where you wanted to delete @vampstothebone? If so, what made you want to keep the account instead of deleting it?
I think everyone had a break down once in their lifetimes and I had it too. I was tired of everything because not all people are nice to me and I thought that I should delete my account but my lovely followers told me I shouldn’t. They’ve told me that I shouldn’t give up because of people who enjoy my pain. They’ve told me that they’re always here for me. My fans are really supportive and as long as they will support me I will run this account.
What was your first reaction when you found out you had been nominated for a CelebMix Twitter Fandom Award, and what was your reaction when you found out you won?
I didn’t know that I’m nominated till the middle of the January, till my friend messaged me. She told me that I’m nominated for best the vamps fan account and I was shook. I didn’t know that I’d ever be in that kind of voting. I was so happy that I can be next to such a big fan account that was the best prize and a couple weeks later I found out that I won and I was screaming from the top of my lungs. I was really happy. I had a really big smile on my face. I can’t believe I won but it’s all thanks to my amazing fans!!
Where do you see @vampstothebone in the upcoming years? Do you think you’ll still be interacting with others through your account?
I think I will continue my trip with this account. I will post a lot of new Vamps pics, new information. I can’t imagine my life without account, without my fans and without The Vamps. This is the best way to support The Vamps!! As long as The Vamps and my amazing fans are here I will continue.
This is your official acceptance speech for the 2018 CelebMix Twitter Fandom Awards: do you have anything to say to the people who nominated and voted for you, to your loyal supporters, or The Vamps?
