As much as fans would like, celebrities are not invincible. In fact, many of Hollywood’s finest are not in the best of health. While some choose to keep their health problems private, others find it perfectly okay to talk about it. Being a celebrity is very challenging with little to no privacy. And, when health issues arise it is almost impossible to keep it a secret. Last year several celebrities decided to go public with their health conditions so they no longer have to suffer alone.
Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande has a bubbly spirit. In fact, she is the type of celebrity that draws fans from all walks of life. So, when she decided to open up about her post-traumatic stress disorder, many of her fans were shocked. She contributed her problem to the death of Mac Miller. PTSD has gained a lot of attention over the past few years, as more and more soldiers are being diagnosed with the condition. The disorder develops after a traumatic event. While some people can cope, others are left dealing with severe anxiety, flashbacks and nightmares, all symptoms of PTSD.
Gina Rodriguez
Thirty-four-year-old Golden Globe winner, Gina Rodriguez has suffered from Hashimoto’s disease for many years. Instead of remaining silent, she decided to take her condition public. Rodriguez told SELF last year that her condition had left her feeling hopeless at times. Hashimoto’s is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks the thyroid, resulting in chronic inflammation. Over time, the thyroid becomes damaged so it cannot produce enough hormones. The treatment is hormone replacement therapy and routine blood tests.
Gabrielle Union
Gabrielle Union, best known for her role in Bring It On, opened up about her health problems during a BlogHer conference in 2018. The 46-year-old said she had suffered several miscarriages, which was contributed to adenomyosis, a condition that develops when the endometrial tissue, tissue that lines the uterus, grows into the muscular walls of the uterus. Fortunately, Union was able to have a baby through surrogacy last year.
Kristen Bell
When people look at Kristen Bell, they see a beautiful, sophisticated woman. But, what most do not know is she suffers from depression and anxiety. As part of the #MyYoungerSelf campaign, Bell made a video in which she spoke about her condition. She told her fans that nothing is as it seems on social media. Bell is just one of the many celebrities with mental health issues. Janet Jackson, Camila Cabello and Ryan Reynolds are living with some type of mental illness.
Allen Iverson
There is absolutely no doubt that Allen Iverson is a great basketball player. He is downright brilliant on the court. Nevertheless, Iverson has some shady secrets elsewhere. Over the years, the basketball player has been known to get himself into trouble in the casino. During the course of his career, he managed to earn roughly $200 million. Unfortunately, he wasted a lot of that money on alcohol and gambling. It has been said that the famous basketball player lost most of his money in the casinos. When he wasn’t playing agen poker, he was hitting the roulette tables. Suffice to say, Iverson has had some ups and downs. He definitely needs to get himself back together before it is too late.

Adele is one of the greatest musicians of all time. Unfortunately, she suffers from serious mental health issues. She once admitted that she tends to slip in and out of depression very easily. She also admitted to having bad postpartum depression after giving birth to her son. This musician is just one of the many women who suffer from this problem. In fact, she knows this. She told Vanity Fair that four of her friends went through the same problem.
Dakota Johnson
Dakota Johnson is best known for appearing in Fifty Shades of Grey. Well, she too has a mental issue and recently spoke about it. She says that she has terrible anxiety and it sometimes reaches the point of panic attacks. She admits that she has anxiety all of the time, but it tends to intensify right before she is going to audition for a big role. She has found a way to overcome the problem obviously and there is a good chance that everyone else can do the same.
