Following her stunning performances at this year’s Rio Olympics, American gymnast Simone Biles has become the nation’s – and the world’s – newest sweetheart.
Not content with five Olympic medals to her name, Simone has also garnered a huge celebrity following, with Zac Efron being one of her number one fans. Recently on The Ellen Show, Simone got to meet another famous face with a lot of love for her – Magic Mike’s Channing Tatum
“I’m gonna freak out,” the actor told Ellen DeGeneres, promising, “I’m gonna freak out more [than her], I bet.” Channing also had a theory about how Simone is physically able to perform so wonderfully.
“She’s gonna be the greatest, and already is, the greatest of all time,” he gushed. “I have a theory, though. My theory is that she’s so tiny that she has a harder time holding onto the ground than actually, like, going up. She’s just always flying away. I think she’s got really, really strong toes and it helps her hold onto the ground. … All the time, to keep herself from flying away. If I came down with that much force, my kneecaps would pop right out of the building.”
Later on, during a chat with Simone, Ellen told her that she needed somewhere to store all of her medals. Cue a human display case in the form of Channing Tatum!
Simone seemed thrilled to bits and gave the actor a huge hug, before Ellen took a selfie of the three of them. Check out the cute video below.

The world is certainly rooting for Simone Biles and we can’t wait to see who’ll be the next celebrity to fangirl over our favourite pint-sized gymnast. Who knows, we may get to read about some of these encounters, alongside her gymnastics journey, when she releases her autobiography in November.
