Florian Wieder, the versatile and talented stage designer whose portfolio includes the Eurovision stages in Düsseldorf, Baku, Vienna, Kyiv and Lisbon, has given us more insight into the extraordinary scene of this year’s grandiose song contest.
In an interview with Jonathan Rieger on “Keshet”, Israel’s Channel 12 last night, he revealed that the 2019 ESC stage depicts a diamond and consists of hundreds of triangles, combining elements of the Jewish tradition. This was especially important to him because of his origins. According to him, when he goes to Israel he feels like being home.
He also stated that the inspiration behind this project came from the Star Of David and the 12 Tribes of Israel.
The icing on the cake is that we can start getting excited, because one of the best stage designers in the world hinted that the show will be unforgettable.
For the Final, we have an amazing opening – it’ll be the best one ever!
