Parkinson Philips Productions has announced Dypsy! The Purrr-ody Musical, the story of Gypsy-Rose Blanchard like you’ve never seen it before.

Rather than than simply retelling one of the world’s most talked-about true-crime stories, Dypsy! comes from the perspectives of two feline narrators. Yes, the story is told through the eyes of Gypsy’s real-life cats, Moo Moo and Boo Boo.

Inspired by acclaimed theatrical parodies such as Titanique and Oh, Mary!, Dypsy! is a one-man parody musical featuring 10+ unforgettable characters. These include Dypsy-Nose Cranchard, her controlling, hyper-protective mother, Greedy Cranchard and her secret online love interest John Go-to-Nick, without forgetting the two most important eye-witnesses: Dyspy’s feline companions.

Manipulation, suspected fabricated illness, and theatrical absurdity collide in this fast-paced musical parody. Combining live performance with multimedia storytelling, it’s also packed with camp chaos and features songs inspired by beloved musical theatre classics.

This one-man musical makes its first public work-in-progress presentation in London this November. It will take place at the Etcetera Theatre, Camden on Sunday 29 November 2026 at 2:00pm, with tickets available now.

Written, created and performed by Samuel Parkinson-Philips, Dyspy! The Purrr-ody Musical features music by Rachel Blaquière, additional orchestrations and arrangements by Mark Pim, feline costume design and construction by OUTNESS, and poster photography by NYRA Studios.

Speaking about the production, Samuel Parkinson-Philips, recipient of the West End Wilma ‘Rising Star’ Award, explains: “Everyone thinks they know this story, but no one has ever asked the cats. After completing an intensive course in feline telepathy and communication, I’m thrilled to finally give Moo Moo & Boo Boo the platform they deserve to tell their side of the story – with a unique feline twist! The response since announcing the show has shown just how fascinated people remain by this story – so we thought it was about time the cats had their say.”

“We knew simply retelling the story wasn’t enough – we had to find an entirely original perspective. By blending musical theatre, true crime and outright theatrical absurdity, we’re creating something that we hope feels completely unexpected. If audiences leave both laughing and reflecting, then we’ve achieved exactly what we set out to do.”

Dypsy! The Purrr-ody Musical marks the debut production from Parkinson Philips Productions, a new production company committed to creating bold, comedic, and boundary-pushing theatrical work. The company aims to bring audiences escapism, joy, and laughter while exploring inventive new ways to tell familiar and unfamiliar stories.
