After weeks of being criticized by the media and online trolls about her weight, pop princess Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has called for an end to body shaming, suggesting it should be illegal to publicly criticize others over their looks.
Cheryl who is a naturally slim and petite woman once again confirmed she is healthy and happy, in an interview with ES magazine which is out today. The singer said: “I am very happy and very healthy. Every woman has a different body type and handles stress and grief differently. I was a ballerina from a child, so I have really good muscle memory. When I work out, I can look like a tennis player. If I don’t, I look different.”
Speaking about body shaming issues the star added: “Body shaming has to stop, something has to be done, changed, even if it’s done in law. The thing for me is that I’ve been doing this for 13 years now and I can take it, but it’s the people going through the same thing as me, you know, young girls, they shouldn’t be having it.”
Too right Chez, it’s about time the media took a stand against this bullying, there should be laws against weight discrimination. Women should empower each other and feel beautiful in their bodies.
STOP BODY SHAMING.
