Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has today confirmed her return to music.
The X Factor judge last released a studio album back in November 2014, the top ten hit ‘Only Human’, her fourth solo LP.
The album’s two lead singles ‘Crazy Stupid Love’ and ‘I Don’t Care’ both topped the charts, making her the first British female to ever score five number 1 solo singles on the official UK charts.
Her previous number 1 singles were her 2009 debut single ‘Fight For This Love’, her 2010 hit ‘Promise This’ and the 2012 banger ‘Call My Name’.
And now the hitmaker has announced her return to the recording studio, confirming rumours of new music in 2016.
The gorgeous Geordie posted a stunning Selfie on Instagram on Sunday afternoon captioned “think its time for the.. Studio!!! It is [on] 2016.. (sic)”
The exciting news has delighted the singers army of fans, who she calls “Soldiers”, with thousands of delighted and excited messages flooding the stars Twitter and Instagram.
Cheryl had earlier taken to instagram on New Years Eve to share her happiness at seeing the end of 2015 saying: Bye 2015, you’ve been real!!!!! You have taught me a lot but I am happy to see the back of you!!!. (sic).
The star also wished her followers a happy new year adding: Happy new year everyone… I hope this year brings you everything you wished for & is filled with happiness, love & laughter! Wishing you a happy, healthy & prosperous new year (sic).
And it looks like 2016 has got off to a great start for the singer with the news of new music in the pipeline.
