For the past few days rumours have been swirling that Geordie pop princess Cheryl was heading to America in order to set up a collaboration with Canadian superstar Justin Bieber. And it’s not the first time that a collaboration between the pair has been talked about.
They first met back in 2010 backstage at the Capital FM Summertime Ball, and ever since there has been rumours of them releasing a song together. Last year Bieber added fuel to the fire by admitting that he would love to record with the former X Factor judge, and confirmed that they would team up sometime in the future.
And this week the rumours started again. This time it was said that Cheryl, who welcomed her first child into the world back in March-was flying to the US in order to start work on her fifth studio album, and would be setting up meeting with Justin Bieber’s team in order to get that elusive collab together. All the rumours were started after ‘Call My Name’ hitmaker was spotted at the US Embassy. Her first public outing since the birth of Bear.
But it seems fans will have to wait a while longer for the dream collaboration between Cheryl and Justin Bieber to take place, as today the management team of Cheryl confirmed that the rumours are untrue. Replying to a fan account on Twitter, Supersonic PR denied that their client would be duetting with Justin anytime soon. However they did confirm that fans will be getting new music from the popstar soon.
