Earlier today (April 5th) it was confirmed that Cheryl Fernandez-Versini had quit her role as a judge on The X Factor, and was leaving the show to concentrate on her music career.

The Geordie babe has been an integral part of the talent contest over the years, and has been on the panel for five series, she joined in 2008 and left after the 2010 series to join the U.S X Factor, as we all know that didn’t work out, but in 2014 she made a sensational comeback to the ITV show and stayed on as a judge until the end of the 2015 season.

Since joining the panel, the singer has been a huge hit with viewers and contestants alike, and has been a massive success as a mentor, she has had two winners (Alexandra Burke, and Joe McElderry) and has never not had one of her acts in at least the semi-final.

Since this is the end of Cheryl’s X Factor journey we thought we would take a look back at her many best bits from her past five seasons as a judge.

    2008:

In 2008, Cheryl joined the X Factor panel alongside, Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, and Dannii Minogue.

She proved to be a natural at nurturing talent as she won the contest in her first year as a judge, with Alexandra Burke.

    2009:

In 2009, Cheryl returned to the panel, and was once again a massive success, proving that she was not a one hit wonder the brunette beauty made it back-to-back victories as she mentored the winning act once again, with fellow Geordie Joe McElderry being crowned the champion.

And of course 2009 saw the former Girls Aloud band-member stepping out on her own for the first time, with her mega-hit debut single ‘Fight For This Love’, the sexy singer put on a show-stopping performance of the no 1 hit during the live shows.

    2010:

In 2010 the L’Oreal ambassador made it a hat-trick of series, and once again made it to the final with two acts (Cher Lloyd, and Rebecca Ferguson), Cher finished in fourth place while Rebecca was the runner-up to the winner Matt Cardle.

This series was especially poignant for Cheryl, as this was the series that she returned after her near-death battle with malaria, luckily the star fought-off the disease, and returned to making music, and hit the X Factor stage once again with an epic performance of her second number 1 single ‘Promise This’.

    2014:

After a few years away from the panel, Cheryl made a sensational comeback.

The gorgeous Geordie was once again a huge hit with the fans, and mentored Lauren Platt into fourth place.

The singer also gave  a sensation live performance of her record breaking fifth number 1 single ‘I Don’t Care’.

    2015:

After the success of her 2014 return, Chezza once again returned as a judge, and joined a new look panel, alongside Simon, Nick Grimshaw, and Rita Ora.

Chez once again proved her mentoring skills by getting Reggie ‘N’ Bollie to the X Factor final where they finished as runners-up just behind winner Louisa Johnson.

2015 was also the year that we saw what is probably the best moment in X Factor history, when Cheryl jumped up on stage during Reggie ‘N’ Bollie’s performance, and did Azonto with the boys from Ghana.

We here at Celeb Mix are gutted that our fave judge is leaving, but we cannot wait to see what the ‘I Don’t Care’ hitmaker has in store for us.

What Cheryl X Factor moment is your favourite? Are you excited that Cheryl is concentrating on new music rather than returning as a judge on The X Factor? Let us know over on Twitter @CelebMix or leave a comment below.
