Singer Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is the latest big name star to send her support to Kesha.

Cheryl has spoken of her outrage over the judge ruling that Kesha is not allowed to be released from her contract with music producer DR Luke, despite the singer claiming that she was sexually assaulted over a period of time by the DJ.

The ruling means that Kesha cannot sign to another label or make music with anyone else. And due to the judges ruling she now has to stay exclusivity signed to her alleged abuser.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper backstage at the Brit awards on Wednesday, the Geordie babe lent her voice to the free Kesha campaign.

The X Factor judge said: “It’s sickening and she 100 per cent has my support. “As a woman I can’t imagine what she has been through. “I can’t believe it. She should have the right to do whatever she wants. “I will definitely reach out to her just as Taylor Swift and Adele have. “To have to be in a working environment and go through that is awful. “It’s so important to have your voice – she’s had that taken away. “She should be able to leave. Why won’t they let her leave? “As a mentor on X Factor, when I support the girls I’m so passionate about them feeling safe and supported. She’s lost that.”

We are so glad that strong and influential women like Cheryl, Adele and Taylor Swift are speaking out on such serious matters.
