Danish rising teen artist Chris Burton has teamed up with Grammy-Award Nominee Tory Lanez for his newest heartbreaking single “What Sucks About Love.”
“What Sucks About Love” comes after the release of his debut song “Love Letters,” which has garnered over 3 million streams on Spotify within its first month. Here, he mentions writing love letters for his crush in hopes of one day gaining the courage to send them to that person.
Less than a month later, Chris Burton shares his thoughts on love in “What Sucks About Love.” He sadly talks about his love experiences with the hook “what sucks about love is that it ends/ we say that we will but we won’t be friends.” Collaborating with Tory Lanez was a complete surprise to Burton who said, ”we were out celebrating the release of my debut single “Love Letters” when we got the verse from Tory Lanez. I was thinking ”Holy S–t, is this for real?” It was surreal to hear him rapping on one of my songs.”
Burton has been slowly building up to this moment of dominating the US charts as he was recently the supporting act for HRVY, 20-year-old England-based singer and actor, climbing the charts with his urban pop singles in Denmark, and soon performing at Denmark’s Spot Festival in May.
Described as his “teenage poetry era,” this teenage songwriter is one of the most exciting artists to emerge in 2019. Keep your eyes and ears ready for what’s to come from this young artist. Listen to the single below:
