Actors Chris Pratt and Anna Faris have shared the heart breaking news that they are separating after being married for eight years.
Together they revealed the news in joint statements on Facebook and Twitter and it has truly shocked fans.
The couple met in 2007 while filming Take Me Home Tonight but now they say that attempts to save their relationship have failed.
“We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed.” Chris Pratt wrote in his Facebook post.

The pair married in 2009 and have since brought up their son, Jack, who is aged just 4.
“Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward,” the statement continued.

The statement also added that the two had “cherished” their time together and still “love each other”.
Chris Pratt, who played Andy Dwyer in the US comedy show Parks and Recreation, has become one of Hollywood’s biggest stars.
His role in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise and Jurassic World has helped him become a well-known face to cinema worldwide.
Sadly, just three weeks before Anna Faris did confess that life in the spotlight put pressure on her marriage to Chris Pratt.
“I don’t think that’s something, when you’re an actor, that you’re prepared for,” she told PEOPLE in July.
“There are two different roles that you play – the one on-camera and the one in public,” she continued. “That’s the tricky part.”
A source told PEOPLE that Faris often seemed sad while Pratt was away filming and the separation was hard for her to endure.
Chris Pratt has been extremely busy recently, filming the sequel to Jurassic World and the huge upcoming Infinity War film with Marvel.
Unfortunately, this is what the couple have decided between themselves and we need to respect their privacy at this difficult time.
