It’s confirmed, Chris Rock is your 2016 Oscars host, as was announced by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today.
Returning to the Academy stage for the second time after previously hosting in 2005, the comedian was the odds-on favourite to host the 88th edition of the award show before today’s confirmation by the Academy and the man himself.
Producers David Hill and Reginald Hudlin named Rock as “truly the MVP of the entertainment industry” upon today’s announcement, with the comedian also noting how it was “great to be back”.
The 2016 Oscars will air on Sunday, February 28th.
