Grammy-winning electronic music group Clean Bandit make a triumphant return to the music scene with the release of their brand new single ‘Cry Baby’.
Released via B1 UK/Ministry of Sound, ‘Cry Baby’ sees the trio team up with Anne-Marie and David Guetta. The song has been teased by Anne-Marie during her summer shows, with an iconic dance routine going viral on TikTok, but now it’s finally here, cementing itself as a contender for song of the summer.
The track sees Clean Bandit go back to their orchestral dance-pop roots, with ‘Cry Baby’ boasting a rich production laced with stirring strings before unleashing an euphoric post-chorus drop. Anne-Marie shines on the anthem, which tells the story of a cheater trying to worm his way back into her life. There’s no doubt that Clean Bandit are back and better than ever before, and this is just the first taste of what’s to come from the band.
‘Cry Baby’ comes accompanied by a fantastic music video which was directed, produced and edited by Clean Bandit themselves! The visual features appearances from train expert Francis Bourgeois and Nigerian star Ruger, as we are taken on a riotous train journey with Anne-Marie, herself on her own empowering journey towards independence from an undeserving man. Clean Bandit’s Jack and Luke are driving the train, while Grace is serving tea to Francis Bourgeois and her dad, who also built the train set for the video!

Speaking about the new single, Clean Bandit’s Grace says: “It’s hard to express in words how much ‘Cry Baby’ means to me. It came out delicate, playful and soft, despite the song’s deep pain. It still makes me cry sometimes when I listen to it, 4 years on from when we started it. I’m so grateful it is finally out in the world.”
‘Cry Baby’ is the second collaboration between Clean Bandit and Anne-Marie, following number one single ‘Rockabye’. The track has over a billion Spotify streams, almost three billion views on YouTube and earned the coveted title of Christmas number one in 2016.
Earlier this year, Clean Bandit featured on two Latin bangers: ‘MAR AZUL’ with Colombian reggaeton giants Piso 21 & Jhosy, and ‘Lambo Sport’ with Puerto Rican rapper Darell. However, we can expect much more from the trio over the coming months, and we can’t wait to hear what they have in store for us!
