It has been 15-long years since the Queen of country music Shania Twain last released a studio album but the wait for new music is almost over. The 51-year-old hitmaker who last night was a guest mentor on The Voice US has confirmed that her new LP rumoured to be titled ‘Triumphant’ will be released at the end of this summer.
But the most exciting announcement from the ‘Come On Over‘ singer is that she will be premiering her brand new single-which is her first in six years since she released ‘Today Is Your Day‘ back in 2011-at this years Stagecoach Festival. Twain will be headlining the event on April 29th.
Shania confirmed the exciting news during an interview with Entertainment Weekly; “I have a new single coming out in June. So I’m kicking off the summer with a new song, and then I’m finishing the summer with the release of the album. It’s been such a long time since I put out a studio album. I wrote the whole album myself, so it’s a real statement of independence. Creative independence is something that I haven’t had in a really long time. It was really scary taking that leap. The album’s done, and I feel really good. The first single is so optimistic and hopeful — regardless of how bad life could get. I really needed that message. I will play the first single [at Stagecoach]”
During the interview she also admitted she would “totally” accept a permanent judging role on a talent show like The Voice.
