It’s safe to say that Nick Janevski and Austin McMillian have the greatest engagement photos of all time. Not to mention, a priceless photobombing from Celine Dion.
Janesvski got down on one knee and proposed to his now-fiancée during a pre-concert meet-and-greet last Friday in Las Vegas. The groom-to-be gave Dion no forewarning on what was to come, leading to the Canadian superstar’s startled reaction.
McMillian told Buzzfeed News that back in October, Dion’s classic hit “My Heart Will Go On” came on while the two were in the car. Realizing his significant other’s admiration for the iconic female vocalist, the 24-year-old came up with the perfect proposal idea to sweep McMillian off her feet. Janevski, who once was a personal trainer for Dion’s manager, used his prior connection to make the magical evening come to life, securing private backstage passes.
“When @celinedion is just as shocked as you are at your PROPOSAL!!!” McMillian captioned one of the candid photos on Instagram. “There are no words to describe this moment! what I thought was just going to be a special night seeing my favorite performer turned out to be a night filled with so much happiness, surprise & celebration with everyone we love & even ended with donuts and ice cream so idk how it could get better! I get to marry the man of my dreams & grow old with my best friend. God’s timing is so perfect. nothing could be better than this!!”
Dion was just as amazed by the proposal, giving the newly engaged couple an incredible blessing. “I hope you have a long and happy marriage, just like I did with my husband,” she told the pair. Talk about the power of love!
Congratulations to Nick and Austin!
