If you haven’t already gotten totally hooked on Against the Current’s Speakeasy Sessions, this cover will definitely reel you in. This week’s upload transports us back to 2008 – the era of Taylor Swift’s Fearless album. Sure, Against the Current are no strangers to covering Taylor Swift. So far, they’ve covered “Red“, “All Too Well“, and “Shake It Off“. But this cover shows just how far they’ve come since those days, and they’ve teamed up with Yellowcard to cover “Love Story”.
Have you ever heard a Yellowcard song without a violin? Most likely not. Sean Mackin played the violin, giving the cover a unique flow with Ryan Key’s voice that only Yellowcard could bring to the table. In addition, Dan and Will of Against the Current were steady on the guitar and percussion, giving Ryan and Chrissy a stage to let their voices shine.

Both bands will be wrapping up 2016 on tour. It’ll be bittersweet for Yellowcard since they’ll be releasing their final album on September 30th and kicking off their final world tour in early October, while Against the Current is currently playing shows on the In Our Bones world tour.
