We have a brand new single from Danny Dearden and it’s impossible not to like it. “Us 4 Life” also features Kyra Lily, bringing in some female rap into this male singer-songwriter’s fresh soul track. This song follows up Danny Dearden’s feature on Michael Calfan’s “It’s Wrong” and his solo track “Take On The World” which featured The Holografik; and, marks Kira Lily’s debut release.
Danny Dearden is a rising singer-songwriter, who readers may recognise from The X Factor, as he was a contestant on series 11, making it to the Judges’ Houses. Since then, he has been gigging, writing, and releasing, managing to take leaps in his music career, this year, as he managed to feature on Michael Calfan’s track “It’s Wrong“. It currently is his most streamed single, as it has amassed over 1 million streams on Spotify, with his feature on “One Love” by Diviners & ENV and his track “Take On The World” featuring The Holografik coming in second and third, respectively. As for Kyra Lily, it’s nice to see her get this opportunity. This 19-year-old rapper and singer has already established herself on YouTube and Instagram. She’s definitely one to watch as she builds up her own music career.
This song has been written by Daniel Robert Dearden, Kyra Lily Whitnall, and Simon Leigh Hulbert. It really establishes Danny Dearden’s vocals showing off his smooth soul that easily displays the emotion in the lyrics. The production is cool and calm that matches his voice brilliantly whilst being rhythmically groovy. This is one song that we can’t stop listening to because it is infectious. It has an Olly Murs slick feel to it. As for Kyra Lily, her rap switches up the song adding more emotion and a new side-story to that which Danny Dearden is painting.
