On January 8th of 1947 a star was born that would change the name and face of music.  On January 10th of 2016 that same star finished his time on earth and left a generation forever changed.

David Bowie, music legend, passed away after an 18th month battle with cancer surrounded by friends, family, and love.  This shocking news comes just days after he released his final album, Blackstar.  The album will, alongside most of Bowie’s music, go down in history.

David Bowie made many contributions to not only music throughout his life, but changed the way people perceived others and themselves, something not many artists can be credited for.

His son posted a tweet before signing off further confirming the news with a memorial photograph of him and a young David looking extremely happy.

Very sorry and sad to say it's true. I'll be offline for a while. Love to all. pic.twitter.com/Kh2fq3tf9m
