Eastenders star Davood Ghadami is the second celebrity to be confirmed for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The actor, who plays Kush Kazemi in the BBC One soap opera, was announced via the Strictly Twitter account this morning. Speaking about taking part, Davood said: “Having the opportunity to take part in this year’s Strictly is such an honour. It’s going to be exciting, challenging and terrifying all at once and I am so looking forward to stepping out of my comfort zone and learning to dance. See you under the Glitterball!”

Over the years, we have seen numerous EastEnders stars take to the Strictly dancefloor including Kellie Bright, Jake Wood, Tameka Empson, Louisa Lytton, Jessie Wallace, Matt DiAngelo and Scott Maslen. However, Davood will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of former Eastenders actresses Jill Halfpenny and Kara Tointon, who won the glitterball trophy in 2004 and 2010 respectively.
Davood is this year’s first male celebrity to be announced and joins The Saturdays star Mollie King on the line up so far. More contestants will be confirmed very soon so make sure you keep an eye out on Strictly Come Dancing’s official Twitter.
