Days Are Done are singer-songwriter duo consisting of Emmy Kay who hails from Blackpool, and BAFTA winning TV & film composer Adam Lewis who is from South Wales. They are both now based in Kingston-upon-Thames.
Over the past 18 months, Emmy and Adam have composed a striking body of material, mostly written in their sitting rooms in Kingston. Boasting an ‘old vs. new’ vibe, it’s fair to say that their shared influences are married with their own distinctive sound and styles to create something rather timelessly magical.
They kept their band a bit of a secret for a while and didn’t even tell their friends about Days Are Done ahead of launching at a series of open mic nights where they road-tested a bunch of original music. Within several months, they had recorded a live EP at a tiny coffee shop Hands Coffee (which is sadly no more) in their hometown. Armed with just a laptop and microphones, they invited a load of their friends and family and recorded the whole show to release as two introductory EPs.
Following the success of the two EPs the rising British act have a super busy summer ahead of them with a number of key festival dates lined up, including slots at this year’s Glastonbury Festival, and Hebcelt. And this Friday (June 16th) they will release their new single ‘Colours’.
