Brisbane’s alternative rock duo, Days Like These, have released their visually captivating music video for “Foolish” – taken from their energetic sophomore EP, ‘ICON.’ Released back in May, the EP showcases the band’s shimmering alt-rock sensibility and tongue-in-cheek lyricism, coupled with enthralling anthemic moments that leave a lasting impression.
Produced by Chris Lalic, “Foolish” dives straight into a sonic exploration of light and shade, through the expertly chaotic pop elements pf crushing heavy intervals, creating a dynamic soundscape that keeps you on your toes. Days Like These’s ability to balance these contrasting elements is a just a small testament to their musical prowess and artistic vision across this new offering.
The music video – directed by Crow River Visuals – perfectly mirrors the duos quirky chaos, dripping with glam, the visuals juxtapose the vibrant backdrops, capturing a colourful and eccentric essence of what “Foolish” is.
Speaking on the band’s chosen aesthetic, Callen of Days Like Theses revealed that the band is as colourful and quirky as they wanted it to be: “With Days Like These, we’ve always had so many different angles and styles to offer listeners and it’s important for us to show all sides of ourselves as artists,” Callen adds, “whether it be a playful video such as ‘Foolish’ or a dark, creepy video like ‘Oblivion’.”
The release of “Foolish” follows Callen (vocals) and Noah (drums/vocals)’s return in 2023 with the EP title single, “ICON“. Days Like These’s ability to craft captivating instrumentals, deliver powerful vocals and engaging visuals is evident through this beautiful new single.
