Today is the day that we finally got a brand new Tinashe track! After being busy collaborating with stars like Britney Spears (“Slumber Party”), Tinie Tempah (“Text From Your Ex”) and Lost Kings (“Quit You”) in the last couple of months, the American singer has now decided to turn her focus back on her solo career.
The singer started teasing her upcoming project on her Instagram page a couple of days ago by unveiling this incredible cover art, accompanied with the release date.
Her new song is titled “Flame” and, yes, it is as good as the title suggests.
The track is not as moody or sexily smooth as previous releases such as “Company” though. “Flame” is a one-of-a-kind pop track. Think “Superlove” and now make it even catchier. Filled with a big, memorable chorus, a perfect-to-sing-along post-chorus and an easy-going melody, the track might just end up being the first song on our Summer playlist.
We never expected Tinashe to go this poppy and we never knew that we needed this to happen so badly.
Lyrically, the song deals with a distressed Tinashe who begs her boyfriend to stay with her no matter what. She explains to him that she knows that the relationship has been hard on him. At the same time, she wants him to tell her that he still has the flame for her.
Well, Tinashe, however this might end, we definitely have a flame for you and your song.

“Flame” comes as a supposed lead single of her second studio album, titled “Joyride”. A release date has not been set yet but it might arrive this year.
