It’s been over two years since Demi Lovato first graced us with a BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge performance. Back in September 2015, she sang ‘Cool For The Summer’ and wowed listeners with a haunting cover of Hozier’s ‘Take Me To Church’.
However, today, she made a welcome return to the Live Lounge, armed with a stunning cover of Sam Smith’s ‘Too Good At Goodbyes’. The cover allowed Demi to showcase a softer side to her voice before she launched into the flawless powerhouse vocals we know and love her for.
Demi’s cover garnered love from her Lovatics but also received the seal of approval from Sam Smith himself. Taking to Twitter, he tweeted the songstress saying “YES @ddlovato SAAAAAAANG IT”. The pair shared their appreciation for each other back and forth, and to be quite honest, we need a Demi x Sam collab in our lives, pronto.
LOVE YOU ???????? And I LOVE your new music!!

In addition to a cover, Demi performed two of her well known hits. Kicking things off with ‘Sorry Not Sorry’, she showed off her sassiness before taking us back in time for a powerful performance of ‘Skyscraper’. Once again, both songs highlighted her incredible vocals which impressed the Radio 1 listeners.
