Diana Vickers aims to break free from “toxic narcissists” on empowering new single ‘Pretty Boys’

Diana Vickers continues to reclaim her pop crown this week with the release of her anthemic new single ‘Pretty Boys’ — a shimmering, glitter-coated kiss-off record that fuses early 2000s nostalgia with sharp, modern pop production.

    Diana Vickers

Co-written by the singer herself, along with Dee Adam (Tom Grennan, Baby Queen) and George Glew (Deaf Havana), ‘Pretty Boys’ clocks in at a brisk two minutes but packs plenty of bite, as Diana flexes her pen to produce a razor-sharp lyric about self-worth, sexual confidence, and breaking toxic patterns. Playful, fearless, and unapologetically feminine, Vickers delivers her message with a wink and a knowing edge, layering breezy melodies over pulsing synths and crisp percussion. It’s equal parts satire and celebration — and a timely reminder that sometimes we need to break old habits in order to find true happiness.

Available to download / stream NOW, the infectious, tongue-in-cheek pop bop serves as the follow up to comeback track ‘Ice Cream’, and continues Vickers evolution into a more self-assured, sonically adventurous artist.

Commenting on the inspiration behind the track, Diana says: “After my type always turned out to be the toxic narcissist and after spending hours in my therapist’s chair — I decided it was time for a change. Honestly, I recommend going for the pretty boys, because they do it better. ‘Pretty Boys’ is about reclaiming my power and stepping into my most confident, sexual energy. In the video, I’m channelling my inner Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct — unapologetic, dangerous, and completely in control.”

Both ‘Ice Cream’ and ‘Pretty Boys’ mark the beginning of a confident new chapter for the British singer, whose debut single ‘Once’ topped the UK charts back in 2010. After stepping away from the spotlight to focus on acting and creative projects, Vickers has spent 2025 rebuilding her musical identity with a fresh, playful aesthetic that leans into her offbeat charisma.
