DISCOVER: Petra Marklund Features On Ludwig Bell’s New Single “Strawberry Fields”

Dropping her first release of 2019, Petra Marklund is back. This new single is her first feature in a number of years, this time she’s teamed up with Ludwig Bell on the song “Strawberry Fields”. The song is building momentum and has one of those rhythms you can’t quite get out of your head. It follows up Ludwig Bell’s previous single “Körsbärsblom i Kungsträdgården” which featured Peter Morén, and Petra Marklund’s 2018 single “En tuff brud i lyxförpackning”.

Ludwig Bell, real name Carl Ludwig Benjamin Bell, is a Swedish male singer who started his music career in a band named Dreamboy, who released one album and a couple of singles. Ludwig Bell started focusing on his solo music when the band parted ways, he started to craft Swedish songs, and it’s been working out well for him as he starts to expand his fanbase and collaborate with more well-known singers.

As for Petra Marklund, she is an international sensation who you will probably know. She used to use the stage name, September, and gained many hits under that name including “Satellites”, “Looking For Love”, “Cry For You”, “Can’t Get Over”, “Until I Die”, and “Me & My Microphone”. In 2012, she said goodbye to dance music and started using her real name to release music. These new songs were completely in her native language of Swedish. So far, she’s released two albums since, with the latest Ensam inte stark being released in 2015; both managed to chart on the Swedish albums charts. She’s also released a bunch of Swedish singles with only her first one charting successfully. There are times when we miss September and her dance music, but we can hear Petra Marklund’s love for Swedish music in every song she sings under her own name, and we respect her for deciding to release music that she is passionate about. We can’t wait to see where her career takes her over the next few years.

This new song was released last week, and both their voices work brilliantly with one another. “Strawberry Fields” was written by Ludwig Bell and Petra Marklund, whilst production was handled by Christopher Göthberg and Theodor Kylin. It is a full Swedish track and, if our Swedish translation is correct (thanks to our slight knowledge of the language and Google Translate of the lyrics) the song seems to be about falling for your friend who doesn’t like you back the same way. Petra Marklund starts off the song speeding through the lyrics with a melodic tone to her vocals, whilst Ludwig Bell jumps in during the second verse with a strong male passionate vocal, but it’s their harmonies on the second repetition of the chorus that truly sells the track, their voices meld beautifully and you can hear the emotions of the song and how relatable it can be to so many people out there.
