Scotty McCreery released the music video for his latest single “Five More Minutes” earlier this week. It follows the release of the single last month and we can not get enough of it. “Five More Minutes” is the first single from Scotty’s upcoming third album. As well as this, it is also the country singer’s first single since “Southern Belle” in 2015.
It is classic country and really feels like a return to the sound of Scotty’s earlier material. The song was co-written by Scotty alongside Frank Rogers and Month Criswell after his grandfather sadly passed away in 2015. The song is a tribute to both his grandfathers with the opening line of the music video simply stating “For My Grandfathers”.
Scotty first performed the song at the Grand Ole Opry last year and fans instantly loved it. “Five More Minutes” is filled with emotion and pulls at the heartstrings with its powerful lyrics. The music video only adds to this. It features home videos of Scotty growing up, reflecting on moments he spent with his family over the years, and we had to hold back the tears. We have all experienced loss at some point in our lives and this makes this song so moving and so relatable for us all.

Scotty McCreery was only sixteen when he won American Idol, and he has already achieved so much in his career. From the moment he auditioned with “Your Man” we all knew he would be a star. We can’t wait to to see where his journey takes him next. If Scotty keeps bringing out tracks like this, which have the ability to pull the listener in, we know his career will keep going from strength to strength.
